Tools
- gptsync - Creates a hybrid GPT(GUID)/MBR partition scheme, useful for multi-booting. Use with caution.
- TransMac - This is a tool for Windows which lets you manipulate Mac-formatted volumes and extract files from them. You can find the 15-day trial download link as the bottom of their page.
- MacDrive - Another tool for Windows which allows read/write access to Mac-formatted media through the Windows Explorer. Can use as a free trial for five days.
- HFSExplorer - Yest another tool for Windows to browse Mac-formatted disks. This one is read-only, but it is also free.
- Paragon HFS for Windows - A tool in beta test that allows for read-only access to Mac-formatted drives from Windows. This will actually mount the drive as a disk in the Explorer, which makes it superior to HFSExplorer, but it can't open DMG files nor CD/DVD Mac filesystems.
- NTFS-3g - This allows Mac OS X to read/write to NTFS-formatted media. Helpful if you multi-boot.
Legacy Software
- DellEFI 1.2 alpha 5 (mirror) - Old, installs extensions (drivers) and a bootloader to make your Dell Mini 9 mostly functional.
- DellEFIBootMaker 0.3.3 (mirror) - Old app to make USB drives bootable and enables installation of Mac OS X. Use this version if you have 2 GB of RAM.
- DellEFIBootMaker 0.3.2 (mirror) - Old app to make USB drives bootable and enables installation of Mac OS X. Use this version if you have 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM.
- Mac OS X 10.5.7 Combo Update - Older OS update.
- DellEFI 1.1 (mirror) - Older version, it is the most recent finished version but lacks the cool features of 1.2a5.
- DellMiniBoot v8.0.0 - This is a really old version of DellMiniBoot. I've only included it because it also has Gparted, which may come in handy for some who are willing to risk changing their partition tables.
- DellMiniBoot v8.0.1 - This is for installing 10.5.0 - 10.5.5 using the older methods and from DVD drives. It is much smaller in size than v8.0.0, but it does not include Gparted.
- DellMiniBoot v8.0.2b1 - This is for installing 10.5.6 with the older methods and with DVD drives. Almost everything works on initial boot with this version on a Dell Mini 9.
- OSXDVD - This is needed only when a compressed image is being used to boot from with the old methods.
- Syslinux (3.80 version mirror) - This is to make the USB drive bootable in the old methods. Download the newest version from their website.
